“Overgrown”: A New Pinnacle in Art Jewelry
The year 2024 marked a triumphant return to the art show circuit after a four-year absence. The exhilaration of reconnecting with the art community, engaging with patrons, and receiving invaluable feedback was palpable.
Inspired by the insights gleaned from these interactions, I embarked on a journey to create a piece that would surpass my previous artistic endeavors. The result is Overgrown, a ring that embodies a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to innovation.
Crafted entirely from 18k gold, Overgrown showcases a flawless 1.2ct natural sapphire and a dazzling 0.5ct diamond at its heart. The bezels were meticulously hand-engraved under a microscope, a testament to the hours of painstaking artistry invested in this creation.
Every aspect of Overgrown represents a significant advancement in my artistic journey, a celebration of growth and progression. It is a testament to the transformative power of time, experience, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Materials
- 18k Gold, custom alloy
- 1.2ct SriLanka Sapphire Trillion, Sapphire melee
- 0.5ct VS Diamond Pear, Diamond melee
Process
- 18k Gold stock, wire, and sheet alloyed and drawn by hand.
- Accents and bezel fabricated from 18k gold.
- Over one dozen individual components are soldered together by hand to create finished piece.
- Bezels are hand engraved and laser welded to ring.
- All solder seams inspected under a microscope.
- Custom message can be added inside the band.
