Owner, Creater, Metalsmith

William Freeman sowed the seeds of his passion for jewelry at age 8 while rock hounding and wire wrapping with the Mt Baker Rock and Gem Club in Bellingham, Washington.

Years later, while mountain bike guiding in Southern Spain, he was given the opportunity to construct a small strawbale cabin on a permaculture farm. This small cabin ignited a passion for creation and building, and soon became his first jewelry studio.

With the guidance of area artisans from Mexico, Argentina, Spain and Italy, Will created his first works: a collection called Bici.Arte. which incorporated bicycle parts into each design.

Later, on a trip to Guatemala, a chance encounter with a silversmith in Lago Atitlan led to a two and a half month intensive silversmith training course. Honing this knowledge over the next three years, Will ultimately created “Kaleidoscope”, featured in our Gallery.

This work brought him to the studio of Paul Bartnik in Portland, OR. Over the course of a year, Will studied the fine arts of hand engraving, goldsmithing, diamond setting and wax carving.

The Studio

I do much of my work at home, in my studio on wheels.
